Aldon

Well the first event has been and gone! I started on Friday in the BE100, with the lovely little Zandigo. He came out looking as fresh as anything, but a small bit of lunging took the edge off him. He did a very nice test, scoring a reasonable 35! He then had an unlucky pole down behind in the show jumping, but flew around the cross country, which left him in 11th! This was a good way to kick start the season. Saturday was The Undertaker’s turn, known by all of us as Herbie, he was in the Intermediate novice. It was pretty miserable, with wind and rain, not a nice day to get the sensitive boy out for his first run. The wind got under his tail and he performed a rather interesting test to score a not very impressive 44! The team at Aldon had obviously done all they could to make the ground rideable, but I just did not see the point in risking Herbie in those conditions this early in the season, so I made the difficult decision to withdraw him and save him for another day. But I must thank all of the team at Aldon for there hard work!
I have got Gatcombe next weekend, so I shall let you all know how it goes.
