Somerley

Herbie had a successful trip to Somerley in the Intermediate. He did a far better test, to score a slightly harsh mark of 37, but this still left him in 10th place. He then rolled one pole in the showjumping and then jumped a fantastic clear cross country. He finished a creditable 7th place. Zamio and Zandigo were doing their first novice. Both did nice enough tests, scoring 33 and 32. The showjumping was big enough and spooky, a bit of a steep learning curve for them. Zamio coped reasonably well, rolling just one pole. Unfortunately Zandigo got slightly overwhelmed down one line to have it down, which was a real pity because he jumped well round the rest. The cross country again was a huge step up for both of them. Zamio was flying round till the 3rd last fence, a cofin, he launched over the first part and scared himself at the ditch so I decided to pull him up. Zandigo coped well to jump a good clear round. In all I was pleased, they all have so much potential, they just need to settle at the higher levels.
