My first event to start my, now very short, season! I just had The Undertaker in the Open Novice, as I wanted to make sure I was feeling fit and ready. He was brilliant, he did a good dressage to score 33, which left us in 4th after the dressage. He then jumped a fantastic clear round show jumping and a faultless clear cross country. I did have the hand break on round the cross country because of a large amount of sudden rain, meaning the ground was very slippery, so we picked up 10 time penalties, which slipped us down to 9th. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the way Herbie went and I am really looking forward to cracking on with the others.
